Heather is a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern with a passion for working with relationship, gender and individual issues. As an undergraduate at UC Santa Cruz, she studied psychology and gender, and did research on human sexuality. She received her Masters of Science in Educational Counseling Psychology at California State University, Northridge. While obtaining her degree, she counseled at-risk children and women who were victims of domestic violence. During this time, Heather became skilled at helping individuals and groups in crisis, providing an empathic, supportive, positive and non-judgmental space for them. Heather has experience with clients who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, abuse and personal/relationship crisis.
Heather has done yoga for over 10 years, and is personally interested in many forms of spirituality and holistic healing. She has also been involved with the arts for most of her life. In her counseling practice, she incorporates her personal interests of mindfulness and creativity with her professional experience of anxiety, depression, crisis, grief, relationship, sexual and gender issues.
Please contact Heather if you are interested. She would be honored to help in your experience of empowerment and healing.
